Cochenour's Rahil Beach

Cochenour is a vibrant community of the Red Lake Touring Region and offers several activities and amenities. With a population of about 550, Cochenour is just past Balmertown on highway 125.

The Red Lake Airport is found here and offers a 5,000 foot paved runway with landing lights and Customs services upon request. For your traveling convenience, several operators fly out of this facility including Bearskin Airlines, Wasaya, and Wild Country Airways.

Cochenour is home to two of the most idyllic sandy beaches in the area. Rahill Beach has warm and shallow waters that are perfect for cooling off on a warm summer’s day. It’s quite rare to see this public beach empty as many local children congregate at the playground and park. The crystal clear, calm waters are relaxing and the shore offers a spectacular view of Red Lake. Cochenour Beach, although lesser known than Rahill, is the perfect location for a picnic lunch or moonlit dinner. Its well-maintained shores offer privacy with the tranquil sounds of lightly crashing waves to soothe your senses.
