Red Lake

Madsen

Madsen, Ontario

Madsen blueberries

Madsen is surrounded by wildlife and fish-filled lakes. As with many of the communities in the Red Lake Touring Region, Madsen was once a booming mine town. Now that its mine has closed down, this community of 290 enjoys the serenity of the wilderness.

Madsen is the last community past Red Lake and is found off of highway 618.

Patches of wild blueberry bushes and other fruit are plentiful along the many bush trails. Fresh fruit is the perfect compliment to homemade baking and you will gain the added satisfaction of knowing that you selected each and every berry.

Madsen also offers ideal nature trails for both hiking and cycling.
