McKenzie Island

McKenzie Island, Ontario

McKenzie Island Ferry

The quiet community of McKenzie Island has an old-fashioned charm and uniqueness that is all its own. With a population of 125, it is a secluded paradise for the outdoor enthusiast.

McKenzie Island is accessible by a short six minute passenger ferry ride from Cochenour. Once on the island, it’s yours to discover. McKenzie Island is renowned for its excellent cross country ski trails, but during the warmer months you can still enjoy those trails. Used primarily for hiking, these rugged trails are also ideal for extreme mountain biking. It is a great location for wildlife sightings. There are many bird watching opportunities from scenic lookouts and wildlife sightings have also been frequent on the island.

It’s a peaceful community that takes you back to the simple way of life.
