| Red Lake is largest of the communities with 2,200 residents and is considered the commercial district. When you have reached the end of highway 105, you will be in the centre of Red Lake’s business district. Take some time to enjoy the multitude of shopping destinations. There are gift shops, clothing stores, art galleries and specialty stores that offer unique items you’re sure to enjoy. You will find one-of-a-kind objects that truly represent the culture and heritage of the area and also of Canada as a whole. No visit would be complete without treating yourself to a distinctive local dining experience. Any one of the tasteful restaurants in the area offer home cooking with a Northern flair. Red Lake is the gateway to Woodland Caribou Park. This massive wilderness park spans over 450,000 hectares and features some of the best canoe and paddling routes around. The Park is also home to the largest concentration of pictographs in the Canadian Shield. Some are believed to be 800 to 1,200 years old. While you’re in town, take a drive to Kinsman Beach. This secluded public beach is perfect for an afternoon of relaxation. Soak up the sun on the sandy shores and take a dip in the sparkling and unspoiled waters of Red Lake. And no visit to this community would be complete without spending some time in Norseman Heritage Park where the suspended Norseman aircraft overlooks Howey Bay. This is a picturesque park in any season and features informational plaques outlining our aviation history and covered pavilions to relax.
